Brooklyn Bounce is one of several pseudonyms used by German house music producers Matthias Menck (Double M) and Dennis Bohn (D-Bone). They have also produced music under the names Mental Madness Productions and Beatbox feat. Rael. Menck and Bohn have also done remixes for a wide array of artists, including Scooter and Kool & the Gang.

Career

Menck and Bohn, both natives to Hamburg, met in 1995. The pair had their first chart hit starring as Boyz R Us with the single "Singin' In My Mind". In 1996 the duo debuted as Brooklyn Bounce and released the "The Theme (Of Progressive Attack)" which scaled the German dance charts as a club favourite before becoming a crossover hit for the group as well. This success set up the band's first debut album, The Beginning.

Menck and Bohn work solely in the studio and are not part of the Brooklyn Bounce live act. Instead, the group was fronted by several different vocalists and dancers, who have collaborated with the two German producers throughout the years. The list includes René "Diablo" Behrens, Ulrika Bohn, Alejandra Cuevas-Moreno and Stephan "Damon" Zschoppe. Vocalists were only credited from "Bass, Beats and Melody", released in November 2000.

Brooklyn Bounce are back for more.

Sie sind einer der erfolgreichsten europäischen Dance-Acts. Bis dato stehen vier Alben und vierzehn Singles in ihrer Erfolgsstory. Seit mittlerweile sieben Jahren sind sie der meistgebuchte deutsche Dance-Live-Act. Brooklyn Bounce wurde zweimal für den ECHO und einmal für den COMET nominiert. Die Band hat diverse Gold- und Platin-Platten erhalten und war in sämtlichen europäischen Ländern in den Charts vertreten.

Brooklyn Bounce, das waren seit vielen Jahren die kühle Schwedin Ulrica, die feurige Chilenin Alexandra und der rassige Diablo. Nicht zu vergessen die zwei Masterminds und Produzenten im Hintergrund Dennis Bohn und Matthias Menck. Doch nach vielen erfolgreichen Jahren und Hunderten von gemeinsamen Auftritten wollten Ulrica und Alexandra sich anderen Zielen widmen und stiegen zum Juni als Sänger- und Tänzerinnen aus. Schon einmal gab es bei Brooklyn Bounce einen Wechsel, als Frontmann Damon ausstieg und Diablo die Dance-Formation bereicherte. Neu formiert, stieg der Erfolg noch weiter und läutete mit 360.000 verkauften Single von „Bass, Beats and Melody“ das zweite Kapitel von Brooklyn Bounce ein.

Jetzt startet das dritte Erfolgskapitel von Brooklyn Bounce. Gemeinsam mit NESTLÉ SCHÖLLER und VIVA wurden in einer bundesweiten Castingaktion zwei neue Sängerinnen und Tänzerinnen gesucht. Insgesamt acht Tagessiegerinnen kämpften auf VIVA um die Aufnahmen in die Band. Mit Hilfe der VIVA-Zuschauer machten die 20 jährige Noreen aus Berlin sowie die 24 jährige, gebürtige Australierin Katie aus Köln das Rennen und sind seit Anfang September die neuen Brooklyn Bounce-Girls. Gemeinsam mit Diablo performen sie jetzt die neue Single „X2X (we want more!)“, die am 10.11.03 erscheint.

„Nach dem Wechsel zu unserer neuen Plattenfirma Polydor sind unsere neuen Stücke progressiver, zugleich aber auch songorientierter und noch mehr Brooklyn Bounce als je zuvor. Wir wollen uns in Zukunft noch mehr auf uns und unseren Sound konzentrieren. Die treuen Fans sind dafür der beste Motor“ sagt Dennis Bohn über das kommende Brooklyn-Bounce - Album „X-pect the Un-X-pected!“ (VÖ: Dezember 2003). Zusammen mit Matthias Menck ist Bohn der Mastermind hinter der Hamburger Progressive--Sensation Brooklyn Bounce. Mit Matthias Menck hat er bis dato inklusive der aktuellen Veröffentlichungen vier Alben und vierzehn Brooklyn-Bounce-Singles produziert, dazu kommen mehrere spezielle Veröffentlichungen, Hit-Compilations und Ähnliches. „Das dritte Kapitel Brooklyn Bounce ist aufgeschlagen. Wir freuen uns auf unsere neuen Girls Noreen und Katie, die den Fans in den Clubs zusammen mit Diablo ordentlich einheizen werden“ verspricht Matthias Menck.
